The Art of Progress. The 2010 Audi A8

Audi has launched the next generation of the A8 – the sportiest sedan of the luxury class sets new standards. Its elegantly styled body with the Audi Space Frame is aluminum, the engines are powerful and highly efficient, and the power transmission and running gear combine dynamics with convenience. The new flagship's generously designed interior captivates with its luxurious equipment, newly developed control system MMI and the excellent quality of its workmanship. Innovative assistance systems lend even more confidence to driving.

The A8 displays its single-frame radiator grille like a proud coat of arms. Framed by a chrome edge, the grille presents a new design - sculptured, three-dimensional and rich in details. With angular upper corners, it is neatly integrated in the front section, while the prominent, horizontal chrome braces emphasize the vehicle width.

The Audi A8 looks out on the world through newly designed headlights - with xenon plus units and the innovative full LED headlights, a technology Audi was the first to introduce worldwide in the R8 high-performance sports car. The adaptive light system augments the xenon plus units - it controls the swiveling modules so that they always provide the perfect lighting for intersections, the city, country roads and highways. The new all-weather light integrated into the headlights replaces the fog lights. Their traditional location in the air intakes is now occupied by the radar sensors of the optional adaptive cruise control. Adaptive cruise control builds on the functionalities of the cruise control system and, within certain system limits, maintains the driver-selected comfort spacing from the vehicle in front automatically.

A technological breakthrough from Audi is the networking of the headlight control unit with the optional MMI navigation plus. The navigation system analyzes the route ahead and relays the data to the light computer to activate highway lighting with its extended range while still on the ramp to the highway, for example. Before entering an intersection, the system activates the cornering light, which provides wider-angle illumination and thus enhances safety.

Green Car Journal confers the 2010 Green Car of the Year to Audi A3 TDI

Brian Harris Audi, a leading Audi dealer in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Louisiana, is proud to share the latest Audi news that the Audi A3 TDI has received Green Car Journal's prestigious Green Car of the Year Award for 2010. This comes as no surprise since the Audi A3 TDI scores high on efficiency in spite of giving sports-car like performance. Eco-friendliness and performance luxury are generally seen as conflicting concepts. But engineers at Audi believed rightly that this divergent ethos can be blended to create the new-generation cars.

The Green Car of the Year award was established in 2005 and Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal and editor of GreenCar.com, presented the 2010 award to Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen during the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The 2010 Audi A3 TDI arrived at Brian Harris Audi last month and has been greeted with enthusiastic response. The A3 TDI is not just one of the most fuel efficient cars but also one of the most environment friendly cars with low greenhouse gas emissions. This car uses TDI clean diesel technology which ensures automotive performance in an environmentally responsible way.

The powerful TDI 2.0 engine in the A3 gives an EPA-estimated 42 mpg highway fuel economy that is the best in any luxury car sold in America. All new A3 models now come standard with S line exterior equipment. The wheels have been upgraded and standard Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights are available on Premium Plus models.
